For today a photo of sour cherries. I missed these in America. For 10 years I tried to find them on sale somewhere, without success. Some people find them too sour to eat them fresh but I love them – I love them in pastries too 🙂
Not only do I like to travel, I also like to read about other people traveling. I like books that manage to give one a sense of place, a sense of being there, books that make you want to take the next plane or train or car and go somewhere. My favorites authors are Paul Theroux and Bill Bryson. Today’s photo shows part of my travel library.
How can I not enjoy coming home when on arrival I’m spoiled with my favorite dishes? These are called “chiftele” in Romanian and are similar with the Greek meatballs Keftedes. Trust me, they’re very yummy.
Subway sign, London
Seven hours layover in London on the way to Bucharest was enough time for a short trip to the city. Trafalgar Square was packed to the gills with people, all there to celebrate Pride Day. Many roads were blocked either because of the celebration or for repairs in preparation for the 2012 Olympics.
Aerial view, northeast of San Francisco
I spent half of the day packing and the other half on the plane so in terms of photos I didn’t have many choices. I happened to snap a few shots after taking off from San Francisco and I chose this photos for today: an aerial view of a farm of wind turbines located north east of the city.
