Bucharest. Cesaria Evora concert at Palace Hall.
Bucharest. Magheru boulevard early in the evening on Sunday.
Bucharest. The perfect Saturday at home when outside it’s raining : shawarma, a movie, Star Trek Voyager, The Big Bang Theory, WOW. So I had to improvise for the shot of the day by taking a photo of some of my travel books and part of my collection of pigs. Since this is a travel/photography site I wanted you to know that my collection of pigs is very international. They come as follows from left to right: Canada, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Macau, Bucharest, Bucharest, Bratislava and the last three are from Krakow.
Bucharest. Today I was invited to two birthday parties, so I thought that the photo that would best describe this day is an “after the party” shot.
Bucharest. Today’s photo shows two of the statues from the University Square which have been temporarily relocated to Izvor Park because of the construction work for an underground parking lot.
Bucharest, a black cat on Selari Street, in the Old Town.
Hong Kong, Repulse Bay
I didn’t take any pictures on October 12th because I spent half of the day in the airplane, flying from Hong Kong back to Bucharest, and the other half in the company of family. I guess there may be days like these, when I won’t be taking photos. Instead I’m going to post a picture that was taken on October 11, one of the last taken that day in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong, the south side of the Western Market
The Western Market resides in Sheung Wan, one of the earliest places settled by British in Hong Kong. It is the oldest surviving market building in the city. The structure is in the Edwardian style, which was very much the rage in England in 1906 when the Western Market was built. The structure that is now the Western Market was in fact the North Block of the original Western Market. The South Block was demolished in 1981. Nowadays it holds stores selling an assortment of goods from souvenirs and jewelery to textiles.
Hong Kong, Lan Kwai Fong at night
I only took 4 pictures today (left my camera home for a change) so I didn’t have many choices for the photo of the day.
Macau, dried meat stall
